Results for May 7th

As Captain Gus is busy sailing the Seven Seas we felt best not to disturb him. The mystery blogger is not difficult to work out. On a breezy cool day only a few knees were on display. It was good to see Dave Robson back for 9 holes - he scored 23 pts and scarpered double quick with his £5. Peter Miller picked up the back 9 (£5) with a creditable 18 pts.

On to the main event where the low handicappers had a miserable day so it was left to 20+ handicappers to cash in. Malcolm and Bob Bright played steady golf to pick up £6.50 each with 37 points. A welcome return to form by Colin who blitzed the back 9 with 23pts taking his total score to 39pts - a well earned £12 and a 1 shot cut for 2nd place.

The winner who went under the radar in last week's team event with 40pts decided to up his game this week and the only disappointment being not to score 50pts after the opening 9 - 25pts. Nevertheless his 45pts gets a foothold on the Hall of Fame list so well done to Twinkle Toes Robin Bull for an excellent round and £22 winnings. Back to 22 HC now on and now top of the Blue Division.

Hall Trophy

3 matches took place today. Well done to David Cheek, Tony Coomber and Dave Clarke for their wins and commiserations to Trevor Pyne, Dave Smith and Pete Ibbetson for falling in Round 1.

Best wishes to Alex Hall on his imminent Hip operation and a return to golf possibly before August.
