Some clarification has been requested on maximum permitted length of gimmes. T'Committe has decided the following. 'lie the putter down, some part of the head must be in the hole and then the whole of the ball must lie within the putter shaft, no overlap with the grip. A gimme is a privilege not a right so anyone can ask you to putt out and shouldn’t feel embarrassed doing so.'
