Tribute to Robert Andlaw

How deeply saddened we all are to hear that Robert has passed away so suddenly.  What a wonderful character he was:  the best  company on and off the course, kind, generous, and a true gentleman.

He loved the sporting life, in particular fly fishing, and of course he was a very good golfer. Pictured here after his hole in one last year, in 2018 he won both the Hall Trophy and the Leaderboard top spot off a 15 handicap. His last round with the Swindle was on the 2nd Feb this year when he scored a typical 35 points. He had played in the Swindle every year for over 10 years.

The abiding memory must be of him drawing on a large cigar, placing it on his golf cigar holder invention, and proceeding to hit a great shot before returning enthusiastically to his cigar. Then in the clubhouse afterwards, having bought the round, talking amiably with friends with a large glass of red in his hand.  He will be so badly missed.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family.
