28 swindlers crossed the finish line and there was a clear winner. David Cheek finished 4 points ahead of the field with an excellent 43 points, playing off a handicap of 18. That equates to a gross 83 - a splendid effort. David took home £22 and a 2-shot cut for his trouble.
There was a 3-way tie for second place, on 39 points. Steve Mummery continued his run of blistering form while Pete B Ibbetson made light of his 15 handicap to post his best score of the season. Pete's round was a gross 84 - another fantastic performance. Gus finished the round with successive birdies at holes 17 and 18. Scooping 8 points on the last 2 holes doesn't half repair some earlier damage! The trio won £7 each and a temporary 1-shot cut.
The front nine fiver was won by Sameer with a ridiculously good 24 points (shame about the back nine...) and the back nine by Dave "the Sommelier" Reynolds with a more manageable 19 points.
On the leaderboards, Ali continues to pull away from the pack at the top of RED, with David Cheek's stellar round seeing him sneak onto the board in 5th. In BLUE, Robin hits the top again owing to his inactivity coupled with Jimbo dropping a whisker. In 5ht and 6th, Malcolm Proudley and Dave Reynolds have edged out Peter Miller and Iain Pritchard. For the time being at least!
Next week is team competition week, so have a look at the spreadsheet to see what fiendish concoction the Boss has come up with this time...
