Temporary greens and fluctuating temperatures were the least of the swindlers' worries as golfers were forced to contend with swarms of ladybirds descending on the course. They seemed to particularly enjoy landing on golfers' necks just as they were about to putt!
Notwithstanding the airbourne attacks there were some fine performances, not least by "Don-Don" Dobbs with a winning score of 40 points, for £21 and a 3-shot cut. Don was closely followed by the sommelier, Dave Reynolds, and Paul Matthews, both on 39 points for £11 each.
Joint third on 37 points were the Brynmeister and Andy Wyatt, for a whopping £2.50 each. Jeff Titman with 20 on the front 9 and Tom Walters with 19 on the back 9 won a fiver each.
Leaderboard News
Following submission of medical records and appeals to the Supreme Court, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and finally the European Court of Human Rights, Don Dobbs has been reinstated on the leaderboard. The Judge accepted that being lame was not, after all, a lame excuse. The decision catapults Don to the top of the BLUE leaderboard. Stuart's brilliantly consistent run sees him edge Kelvin into 3rd, with Tom only a whisker behind.
On the RED leaderboard, Paul Matthews has consolidated his lead and now looks hard to catch, barring a dramtic drop-off in form. His nearest challengers are Mark "Dick" Whittington and the persistently dogged PBI.
