I wasn't there myself but conditions must have been tough judging by the scores posted on the day - an average of only just a shade over 31 points. Perhaps it's not a surprise that the low-handicappers took centre stage, with Mark shooting a gross 80 for 40 points and Eugene a superb 78 for 38 points. This was a team competition though, so whilst Mark won a fiver for the best stapleford score the team prize was won on 93 points by Eugene, joined by Dave Smith, Mike Crofts and Martin Davies. £9.50 to each of them. Eugene made sure he had all the bases covered by appearing as a ghost in the second placed team, on 91 points. Smart.
Nearest the pin on the 3rd for a fiver was dead-eye Paul Matthews. That may have been the highlight of Paul's day though, as an otherwise tough day at the office saw his lead at the top of the RED leaderboard substantially eroded by Mark. On the BLUE leaderboard Stuart also had a tough day, falling to 4th overall. With only 4 more Wednesday swindles to play before the annual prize giving though, it's still nip and tuck and one stellar round or alternatively a real turkey could still make all the difference.
Parish Notices - Christmas Dinner
Hopefully everyone has now had an email from Sameer regarding this year's gathering, which will be held at the George in Harpenden on Monday Dec 2nd. If you haven't had an email then don't take it personally, it's probably just Big Tech playing games with you. Just let us know and we'll get you the details - let's make it a bumper turnout this year!
