Wednesday swindlers are a hardy bunch. Or should that be fool-hardy? Maybe they're just waterproof! Anyway, despite the somewhat biblical weather forecast, 16 golfers set out in the rain. That 14 of them got to the end is testament to their determination. Good on them.
Once again the winning score began with a "4" but this time only just - The Boss and Mark Thompson both scoring exactly 40 points for a £10 prize and cuts of 2 and 3 shots respectively. No other placings were awarded, given the limited field. The front nine was halved by Stu and Jimbo with 19 points, for £2 each. The back nine £4 prize went to Mike Vallance, returning to the swindle for a full 18 holes for the first time since June, with 20 points. Well done sir - obviously been practising!
No great change in the leaderboards - Jeff (red) and Steve (blue) are beginning to look like they'll take a bit of catching, though a good run from one of the current occupiers of the other podium places could make life interesting.
