It is with a heavy heart that, for the third time within a year, I find myself writing about the untimely death of a Swindle member: this time our friend Tony Hurst. Tony had played in the Swindle since 2019 but I believe was a long standing club member. A fine player who achieved a lowest Swindle handicap of 12, and a fine man who battled with adversity whilst remaining positive and good company both on the course and in the clubhouse. Despite a terminal prognosis Tony continued to push himself to turn out for golf even when he must have been feeling rotten. He played golf 10 days before he passed away early on 9th March.
There will be a collection and a card to sign next Wednesday. Our sincere condolences go to his close friends and family. No funeral arrangements are yet known. Farewell Tony, you have left another big hole in the Aldwickbury fraternity.
