Results from 12th August

Winner: Alan Wright, 40 points. A great round on a sweltering day, including 3 birdies; not bad for someone who claims they can't putt !!

Second: John Martin, recently (and completely unjustifiably) named 'Swiss Watch' by the nickname committee, 37 points.

PARISH NOTICES - SUPPLEMENTARY ROUNDS & WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM.

Message from Alex Hall:

For those of you who do not play in the club comps but wish to keep their handicap up to date you can now enter and record your supplementary scores via the How Did I Do website whilst the pro shop terminal is closed for COVID.. https://www.howdidido.com/Account/Login?returnUrl=%2f

Entry and recording of your score must be done on the day of play. You must enter before you start your round.

On completion of your round your card must be left in the box (at the moment by the trophy cabinet).

Sign the card and enter the name of your playing partner as scorer in case confirmation is required.

The entry and recording of your score can be done at home but this must be done on the day that you play. Would suggest that you take a photo of your card before leaving it in the box.

Note: Your supplementary scores if correctly recorded count as qualifiers as well as calculating your handicap.

The new World Handicap System (WHS) starts on 2nd November 2020, this system takes the average of the best 8 games in your last 20. To ensure that your handicap reflects your current playing ability it may be best for you to play in as many competitions as you can or submit  a number of supplementary scores before the end of October so that everything is up to date when the new system goes live. Swindle rounds will not count immediately towards the WHO, unless you sign in beforehand for the midweek competition or a supplementary.  However, when Keith submits Swindle scores in bulk (currently every 3 months) they may be counted at that point (tbc). The SWINDLE handicap system will continue to be operated by Keith,  separate from WHS club handicaps,  as now.
