Two Big Losses, Hall Trophy Result, and IT Problems

We are losing two of our stalwarts from the club: Munty and 'Gentleman' Jim Gill. Munty is following the trend of TV celebrities and is travelling around UK and Europe, the mode of transport in this case being a camper van (although I think Motorhome is the more pc term nowadays). Apart from being badly missed by us all, Mr Paul Wright Esquire will be interviewing for the post of a new  comedy partner. Main qualification: ability to wind him up in all circumstances. Good luck on your travels Munty. There is a chance of a travel blog appearing at some point on the website, that is if he ever makes it over the channel post Brexit.

Jim has not played much this year due to  unfortunate family circumstances and has not renewed his membership. Jim was one of the first to befriend me when I joined and most of us have enjoyed his company over the years on Wednesdays, playing with his calm, good humoured demeanour and considerable golfing skill. Jim leaves his mark on the Swindle Hall of Fame with  43 and  45 pointer rounds, and reaching this years knockout semi-final. Sincere best wishes for a good outcome for your family Jim.
Turning to the Hall Trophy knockout, organised this year by the aforementioned Munty. It has proven to be a great success with many very close and enjoyable encounters. Personally I have set myself a goal to get past the first round next year for the first time ! The final was no exception with two of our most consistent mid handicappers, Robert Andlaw and Martin Wood, going head to head. It was a see-saw match with both players enjoying leads during the round and they finished all square on the 18th. The play off hole saw Robert take it with a 5. Bad luck Martin and congratulations to Robert who gets the cigar this year , literally !

Finally IT issues ( I hear you groan). I have had to rebuild the Player Entry and Spreadsheet system over the last few days and I apologise for the inconvenience.
