Guys,
The Aldwicks Charity Day was held today and except for a little bit of rain towards the end it was an extremely good day although I did play rubbish.
As a group we raised over £400 pounds so we should feel very proud of ourselves, Robert Andlaw a very prominent member of our Wednesday group should be extremely proud as the amount he raised on his own by various methods was quite staggering. A lot of hard work went into today by Mick Beaufoy, Robert Andlaw, John Maynard and Bruce Old and a staggering £7000 plus was raised on the day. The Charity it was in aid of was the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted where Terry Darby a late member of our group spent his last few weeks being cared for so it was very fitting that we had a very successful day, his brother was a special guest today and made a very touching speech after lunch.
You all bought lots of raffle tickets and we won quite a few prizes between us. I have the prizes for everyone from our group who didn't collect them today and you can either collect them from me at home or I'll bring them along next Wednesday and the winners are:
