November 13 Results

First up, a plea on behalf of the poor devils who get drawn out of the hat with the last tee-time on a Wednesday. I was in that group yesterday at 11.40 and we only just made it round before dark. And that was on a clear sunny day! Next week's final tee-time is 11.56 so to give them a chance of finishing their round, we all need to get round in 4 hours. So just a reminder of a few tips for speedy play:-

-  Leave your bag/trolley on the exit side of the green and move off as soon as everyone has holed out. Don't hang about marking your card on the green!

-  If a ball is lost, play your own shot first and then go and help. Take your bag with you. And remember you only have 3 minutes to look for your ball.

-  Play ready golf. That means whoever has the opportunity goes ahead and plays, even if they're in front of another player. If you can't score on a hole, pick up and move on and be ready to tee-off first on the next hole.

-  At this time of year the sun can be a real problem for seeing where balls have gone, so make sure everyone in the group keeps a good eye out on each shot so you can help each other locate your balls.

Above all, keep an eye on the clock and if you're falling behind, make a special effort to speed up. You must avoid letting a large gap open up in front of you!

November 13 Swindle Results

There was a 3-way tie at the top on 39 points; £15 each and plenty of shots cut for Mark "Dick" Whittington, Keith "The Boss" Martin and Dave "The Sommelier" Reynolds. Well played to all of them - it's not so easy to get good scores at this time of year. Iain Pritchard was only a point behind in 4th, for £6. Dave Robson took a fiver for 21 points on the front 9 as did Tom Walters with 19 points on the back 9.

On the leaderboards, we have a new leader in RED as this week's win means Mark has snuck past Paul Matthews. In BLUE as well though, it's too close to call the winners. Still all to play for!

Hall Trophy - The Result

Congratulations to Tom Walters, who ended Geoff Tithecott's fine run with a victory by 2&1. A worthy champion!

A final note - those of you who know former swindler Munty will be very pleased to hear that after a pretty serious health scare he has been given the all-clear. We'll all drink to that.
